The business that is speaking out the most about Florida’s new “Parental Rights” bill is Disney. Dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by critics, the bill would give parents more control over what is taught to their kids in elementary schools (specifically grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade). Disney is doubling down on their own sexual morality by pushing for LGBTQ+ characters in their movies and shows, including ones geared for children. This despite the fact 61% of people in Florida support the bill (only 26% are against it). It is popular even among suburbanites and Democrats. Anxious parents are boycotting Disney, and this time, it sounds like for good.Outside of church circles, it is rarely discussed that parents are the primary educators of their children. Due to needs like providing income for their families, parents often delegate the responsibility to the state (through public schools) or to churches or other agencies (through private schools). This does not mean that schools can teach whatever they want to. Every school should be grounded in things like truth (including the natural law), beauty, and goodness. As an alternative to Disney, the conservative news service The Daily Wire is investing $100 million over the next three years to create family-friendly programming. There are also limited conservative-friendly theme park options with Dollywood and Silver Dollar City being the main ones (as I’ve mentioned before).
